I finished up the Chibiterasu sculpture yesterday. He is such a cutie!
Tapir photos coming soon as well as a mini painting tutorial to go along with him :D
Chibi : “Hey Mr Tapir, I heard we are both getting a fresh coat of paint tomorrow!”
Tapir : “Yup, it’s true. Good thing I leveled all this sandpaper with my bumpy skin!”
Spent most of the day sanding these two, but they are now ready to be primed and painted!! Chibi’s shield is made of colored Sculpey. I have it as a removable piece so it is easier to paint and easier to ship. Plus, yellow is a SUPER thin color when it comes to paint. So having a yellow base clay will make it much easier and quicker to paint the flames.
I use 220 grit sandpaper and sculpey eats away at that FAST! I have it precut into little 1.5” squares and I blast through them! That used pile in the picture is just a fraction of what I used today. I believe that is only what I used on the front half of Chibi.
